Organize your digital resources!

Hello friends!

Teachppy loves to prepare projects to get a great learning in our lessons.
One day, we was working and Teachppy remembered an incredible activity that we could do to link the content with the arts and crafts subject. The problem was... Where that activity was? Where we can find it?
We looked for it in the mail inbox, on the computer, also external hard disk and pen drive... but, finally, we could not find it.

This bad experience helped us to improve and organize our digital resources better. We started to use a content curation. It is a way to organize our resources, also filter and select information and ideas.
It is a great help for teachers, because we can create a big community to share resources.

There are different tools to curating content: Symbaloo, Listly or Pearltrees.
We started to use Pinterest. It is a very famous app where people and teachers around the world share resources. It is a very easy site, and you can use as a visitant or with your personal profile.
In the main page you can find a searcher where you can write the key words about the things that you need or the topic that you want to develop. It is very visual webpage because the screen is full of images.

Teachppy has recently created a content curation for arts and crafts subject. We love to link this type of activities with other areas, to reinforce the content of social and natural science, literacy or culture. Enjoy it!

Support learning through awesome images!

Dear friends,

How do we create more attractive lesson in our school?
How support teacher explanations?

It is very rewarding to use images that complete the teacher´s lessons.
Teachppy helps me to find the best pictures for each content, also safe and legal!

In this case, we are preparing a CLIL lesson plan about the landscape. We will teach this content in differents subjects, as geography, natural science and arts and crafts. Our first gradeers students will learn with enthusiasm!

Our idea is starting with the student´s closer landscape, and bit by bit, showing distant landscape.
We will start our trip in the city and, across the road, we will discover the inland landscape (mountains, trees, plains, and rivers). Finally, we will find out the coast landscape (islands, beaches cliffs and the see).
Thanks to the selected pictures, we will travel from the city to fantastic places!:

1. Buildings (we live in a big city):

2. Roads (there are different depending on where they are):

3. Mountain and lake (look! it is very beautiful inland landscape!)

4. Beach (great! costal landscape!)

There are a lot of sites on the net when you can find images. But, be careful! It is important to respect the licenses of the authors. (Discover more about that in Creative Commons)

We get this fantastic photos on the web page Pixaby It is a very funcional website, you can get loads of images, illustrations and videos with an easy search tool. All the pictures are for free use, most of them under the  CCO Creative Commons. The authors are very generous to share their work, so we think that it is important to name them.

Don´t worry... use pictures!

Teachppy!

Hello friends!
It is a great pleasure to introduce you OUR PET!

He is Teachppy (mix of teach and happy).

He is four years old (the same age as the years I have been working as a teacher).
He is from Segovia, we love this city and region!
He is a school asistant. He helps teachers to create fun sessions to teach my students. He also supports us with the use of ICT and new methodologies.
Apart from teaching, he loves sports, especially football. He is a Numancia´s number one fan!
He also likes music, he is a rock and roll follower! He loves Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

Teachppy was possible thanks to an avatar creator webpage. In this case I used www.voki.com. It is a very useful creator, very easy!
You can create an avatar without the need of logging in or giving them your personal information. You can do the avatar in the "creator" side. They offer a lot of characters,  clothes and accesories to create a personal chatacter. You can also add sounds with your own voice!
Suddenly, those free options does not allow to use the embed code to watch the video with the movement and sound of the avatar in your blog.

Of course, there are a lot of webpages to create an avatar. You can try to use, for example:

Teachppy recommends you to use avatars as a tool for the classroom. You can use your digital pet as a resource for school ICT as webpage, blog or social networks, or to make more enjoyable sessions in the day to day.
Con you imagine that a plant cell telling you things about its life?
What if a cow speaking with the students about the life on the farm?
And food talking to you about healthy habits?
Nothing better! Thaks to these characters that we can create throught the Internet, teachers can make learning more meaningful, and students will be delighted1

Don´t worry... create an avatar!

Welcome to the blog

Hello friends!

The goal of this blog is to do our bit to help for the progress of education: helping teachers, families and students.

Every day in the classroom is a great challenge, and teachers have to be prepared to offer the stimuli and answers that children need.

If you're a teacher ... do not worry and ... teach happy!
